Privacy policy
How we collect, store, use and disclose the information you share with us when you request a quote, send plans or photographs, or enquire about trade supply.
1Who we are
This policy explains how Melbourne Doors & More ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information collected through this website, by email, by phone and in the course of quoting, supplying, installing and servicing garage doors.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect: your name; email address; phone number; suburb or site address and other location information; project information such as door type, opening sizes, timeframes and budget; photographs of your home, garage or site; and plans, drawings and other documents you send us.
For trade and distributor enquiries we may also collect business name, ABN, trading address and the details of your nominated contacts.
You do not have to provide this information, but without it we may not be able to quote, manufacture, supply or service your door.
3How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you complete a quote, contact or trade enquiry form on this website, email or call us, request a site measure, or send photographs and plans.
We may also collect information from builders, architects, installers or distributors who engage us on your behalf.
4How we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, arrange site measures, manufacture and supply products, coordinate installation and servicing, process payments, handle warranty and service requests, and keep records of our dealings with you.
With your consent, we may also use your information to send you product updates or promotional material. You can opt out at any time by replying to any message or emailing us.
5Photographs and project images
Photographs you send us are used to assess and quote your project. We will not publish a photograph of your home or project on our website or social media without your permission.
Where images are supplied to us by builders, customers, installers or distributors, we publish them only where permission to do so has been given.
6Who we disclose it to
We may disclose personal information to our staff and contractors, installers and service technicians, manufacturing and supply partners, transport and delivery providers, payment processors, our professional advisers, and to others where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell personal information. Where a service provider is located overseas (for example, cloud hosting or email services), we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with this policy.
7Storage and security
Enquiries submitted through this website are stored in a secure, access-controlled cloud database. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet our legal, warranty and record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
8Cookies and website analytics
This website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working correctly and to understand how it is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some parts of the site may not function as intended.
9Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it.
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us and we will investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
